Final Examination

tesi laureaThe preparation for the final exam is conducted under the supervision of a teacher of the Geology course.

The final exam will verify the cultural maturity achieved by the candidate and the ability to produce and process data and observations appropriate to the educational objectives of the study Program.

The student will have to produce and discuss an essay on a subject that falls within a discipline that characterizes the BSc course.

The final thesis, complete with any tables, figures, thematic maps, sections, bibliographical references, and other material useful for clarity, must be written in English and include a summary.

The thesis is conducted under the supervision of a faculty member from the BSc in Geology who serves as supervisor, and may involve the support of other faculty members, researchers, or research collaborators within or outside the UNIPI Branch who serve as co-supervisors.

The thesis is defended publicly before a Degree Committee that assesses the candidate's level of preparation and independence in producing and processing data and observations, also drawing on the opinions of the supervisors and co-supervisors. In evaluating the candidate, the committee will take into account not only the final exam but also the candidate's academic record.
For the 15-minute presentation, the candidate will have access to projection equipment and, where necessary, display panels.
The organizational arrangements for the oral dissertation and the dissertation proclamation session are delegated to the Chair of the Degree Committee.
The consultation of a degree thesis is strictly subject to the Supervisor's approval.
If a student must undertake field or laboratory work, it is recommended that they activate the required insurance coverage, which can be downloaded from this Forms link. The form must be signed by the Supervisor and returned to the Academic Secretariat.
