Seminar: Unmasking the Seafloor - Geohazard for Offshore Engineering

Dr. Francesca Zolezzi, Head of Geohazard at RINA, will be a guest at the University of Pisa – Department of Earth Sciences on March 26th at 14:00 (Room C), where she will deliver the seminar:
Unmasking the Seafloor: Geohazards for Offshore Engineering
This seminar introduces geohazards in offshore engineering and explains how geological processes can affect pipelines, cables, and related infrastructure. It outlines the end-to-end geohazard workflow—from survey acquisition and data interpretation to 3D ground modelling and quantitative risk assessment—and highlights the importance of an integrated approach combining geophysical, geological, and geotechnical analyses to support safe and well-informed engineering decisions.
Dr. Zolezzi is a geophysicist with 20 years of experience in offshore geohazard risk assessment and currently leads the Geohazard Team at RINA Consulting S.p.A.
