I am geologist and traveller, passionate about polar areas and extreme environments. During my Bachelor, I studied Antarctic paleoenvironmental changes through the sedimentological analysis of Antarctic marine cores, and then, during my Master's, I focused on micropaleontology, in particular on polar marine diatoms. Currently, I’m investigating the Holocene environmental changes of polar areas (North and South Hemispheres) through the study of marine diatoms and radiolaria assemblages and grain size analyses of the sediment. Currently, I am involved in different international projects, one of these, allowed me to visit the Korean laboratory of KIOST, University of Pusan, and KOPRI (Republic of Korea).
I participated in an oceanographic cruise in the Adriatic Sea, and to field works to study sea-level change at Egadi Islands and in Greece. I was co-organizer of the IVPDAY congress and I worked in the scientific museums of Trieste. I have been participating in scientific divulgation since 2014.
