Environmental scientist and traveller, passionate about nature exploring, hiking and mushroom hunting. I have focused my academic career on hydrological sciences, including hydrogeochemistry and isotope hydrology. I am interested in understanding the potential impacts of climate change on the water cycle by studying the current hydrological processes and comparing it with past climatic conditions. I also deal with aspects concerning environmental geochemistry and hydrogeology. Currently, I’m attending a PhD course at the University of Florence and University of Pisa (2019-2022). The main goal of my project is to quantify the influence of moisture origin and air mass trajectories on rainfall isotopic composition in an area of western Mediterranean (Tuscany, Italy). The research has implications on the understanding of recharge mechanisms of groundwater as well as on the interpretation of isotopic signatures preserved in past climatic archives.
- MSc from the University of Pisa in 2018 with a thesis on vulnerability of a carbonate aquifer to thallium contamination in a past-mining area (Apuan Alps, Italy)
- Collaboration in 2019 with a company (TerreLogiche Srl) for geochemical investigations on landfills
- Post-graduate scholarship in 2019 at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa, Italy), where I was involved in two international projects concerning Nature-based solutions for water management.
- Since 2020 I am associate researcher at IGG-CNR (Pisa, Italy), where I also completed two traineeships in 2015 and 2018 in the laboratories of water and isotopic chemistry.
