Conservation Scientist. My research activities are focused on the diagnostics of stone materials used in Architectural Cultural Heritage, like historic buildings and monuments. The main purpose of my project is the setup of a protocol of non-destructive investigations for the protection of historic buildings and the prevention of the risk of collapse of the stone elements. I’m also working in the development of a management system for the survey data, to support monitoring and intervention planning.
B.Sc in Technologies for Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the University of Florence. Thesis title: “Characterization of organic binders in pictorial layers on wall surfaces”.
M.Sc. in Science and Materials for Conservation and Restoration at the University of Florence. Thesis title: “Influence of Natural Organic Materials on the Properties of Traditional Lime-Based Mortars”.
Research Fellow at the University of Florence, 2019 – Present. Analysis of the chemical, physical and mechanical characteristics of innovative restoration materials and surveys to determine their usability.
Ph.D Student in Earth Sciences, 2020 – Present. Project: “Monitoring and predictive diagnostics of physical and mechanical decay phenomena of natural and artificial architectural stone elements: integrated methodology for the protection and risk prevention in Cultural Heritage”.
