Fascinated by all the processes which built and continue to shape our planet, I started my study in geology and focused then in particular on the wide aspects of volcanology. Currently, I’m investigating the Central sector of the Main Ethiopian Rift, where many explosive volcanic phases led to the emplacement of numerous large volume ignimbrites deposits and the remnants of several calderas. Through a multidisciplinary study, which integrates field investigation with several types of laboratory analyses, we aim to increase our knowledge on the volcanic activity and the geochronology of the main large eruptions occurred in the last 4 My, their impacts and their relations with the tectonic evolution of the rift.
B.Sc. in Geological Sciences at the University of Florence, 2014. Thesis title: “Geotechnical characterization of materials for the analog modeling of landslides”.
M.Sc. in Geological Sciences and Technologies at the University of Florence, 2018. Thesis title: Evolution and characteristics of volcanic activity in the Ririba rift (Southern Ethiopia)”.
PhD student in Earth Sciences with a co-tutorship PhD between the University of Pisa and the University of Orléans, 2018 – Present. Thesis title: “Large explosive volcanic events and tectonic evolution of continental rift in the Main Ethiopian Rift, East Africa”.
