My PhD research have two main objectives: a) understand the evolution of bimodal magmatism through the microanalytical, chemical and isotopic study of the minerals that make up the Monte Amiata volcanic rocks in order to be able to estimate the geo-thermobarometric and crystallization conditions. b) investigate from an experimental approach the petrophysics characteristic of the Monte Amiata volcanites to better understand the fluid circulation capacity of the rock. My scientific skills are: petrographic investigations of rocks under the optical microscope. Analytical chemistry of major and trace elements on glass and minerals by Electron Probe Micro Analyses (EPMA), Laser-Ablation-Inductively-Coupled-Plasma (LA–ICP–MS). Sr-Nd-Pb isotope analyses and micro-analyses of solid materials by powder digestion and chromatographic Sr-purification in ultra-clean laboratory (‘Class 1000’) followed by isotope measurements at Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS).
