Noble gases dissolved in groundwater and paleoclimate signals in deep aquifers

Şebnem Arslan is an Associate Professor of Hydrogeology in the Department of Geological Engineering at Ankara University. She received her B.S. (2001), M.S. (2004) and Ph.D. (2008) degrees from Middle East Technical University (Ankara), Turkey. During 2006-2007 she was a Fulbright visiting scholar at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University (U.S.A) where she carried out research as a part of her PhD studies. Her PhD thesis focused on environmental isotopes and noble gases in a complex aquifer system located in Kazan Trona ore field (Ankara, Turkey). Her current research interests’ center on the use of environmental tracers in subsurface hydrology, sustainable management of groundwater resources and groundwater quality.
