B.
Research
His
research is focused on two main topics:
structures and microstructures of deformed rocks in high strain zones at
different structural levels, localization of deformation, microstructural
stability and relationships with the geological history.
tectonic evolution of the Northern Apennine within the frame of the geodynamic
evolution of the Apennine-Corsica-Tyrrhenian system;
Presently
running studies are mainly devoted to:
structural evolution of the Alpi Apuane and
neighbouring areas (NW Tuscany);
deformation history and microstructures of Carrara
marbles and LT carbonates of the Tuscan nappe;
structures and microstructures of HP/LT continental
unit in NE Corsica and in the
Ligurian ophiolite-bearing units;
